This is a beautiful 1959 Olds Recording cornet in excellent playing condition. The Recording model is one of Olds' finest professional cornets, featuring the distinctive offset middle valve, Rey-O-Loy bell and leadpipe, spring-loaded third valve trigger and elegant factory engraving. Manufactured in Fullerton, California during Olds' golden era, these cornets are highly regarded for their rich, warm sound, excellent intonation and effortless response.
The instrument has been previously refinished and shows some wear to the lacquer on the hand grip, along with a few minor cosmetic dents consistent with its age. It has been fully serviced here at DBR in preparation for sale. During the removal of a dent in the leadpipe, a small amount of lacquer was lost and some minor repair marks remain.
