Another classic and ultra-relaible cornet of yesteryear. The Olds Ambassador is a cornet that just keeps going.
This cornet dates from 1964, in the Fullerton era. It has had some solder and dent work though the bell has never sustained any serious damage. The plating on the valves is very good for 62 years of use and the compression reading is impressive at under 2.0 inH2O. The lacquer finish is quite worn with some bare spots from use and repair. This instrument has just been fully cleaned and had all the replaceable bits replaced and the valves aligned.
These horns play great and, if cared for, will last another 62 years.
