A vintage East German build tuba. This tuba, made by the B&S company under the branding Weltklang has seen many years of use. Prior to import to Australia by the most recent owner, the tuba way fully overhauled - new leadpipe was installed, the valves tightened and the valve linkages replaced with Minibal links. More recently a semitone dependent 5th valve was added to the 4th slide to help with intonation in the very lowest register.
This is a very light tuba! Undoubtedly handmade and very resonant. A really fun instrument to play with a big broad sound and tons of projection. This is NOT a tuba for a school or for anyone that is rough on their instruments. It will dent easily and so must be treated kindly. This could be a very rewarding instrument at a great price for the right person.
The tuba is raw brass, has very few dents and has one patch. It is very tall at 110cm but extremely light, coming in just under 9kg.
Valves: 5 rotors; 4 right, 1 left (dependent on 4th valve)

Bell diameter: 42cm / 16.5"
Comes with Wessex branded gig bag.
